The 9 Reasons Tourists Love Joseph Ducreux | joseph ducreux

Joseph Ducreux is one of those names that conjures up images of the French kings and their courtiers. Ducreux was the founder of a great French military family who were known as the Ducs de la Reunion and it was from them that many of the royals later rose to power in France, particularly the Medicis, the Dukes de Bourbon and duchesses de Bourbon. This royal family, which is considered to be one of the most powerful in all of Europe, used its wealth to influence the politics of the French crown and to ensure that the king kept it safe for the people that lived within it's borders.

Ducreux, in fact, made his own kingdom in the area of present day France. He was the first of the French rulers to have been born in the country, so he was therefore entitled to call it his own, but it soon fell into the hands of the Bourbons, as well as being taken by the Duke of Burgundy, because it was so rich in natural resources that it made it an economic powerhouse. It is from this area that the Ducreux family were famous for their wealth, and this wealth was not only used for themselves but for all the people in the area that it reached. Joseph Ducreux was a wealthy man and as such was able to buy the rights to the French throne, but he was unable to actually live in it.

Ducreux was forced to flee the area in the year 1415 because the Burgundian troops were in rebellion against the King of France and they were fighting a battle to defend their lands. The people of the area saw this as a way of saving themselves from the French and therefore took the king and his entourage hostage. Ducreux and his followers were forced to leave their possessions and were left to fend for themselves in the surrounding countryside.

Joseph did manage to get back to the French court and met with the French king and his wife Anne of Austria and the king of Hungary, and they decided to set aside their differences and to join forces against their common enemy. This was to prove to be a great move on the part of the Ducreux family, because the Hungarians and the Medicis were not only in the war against the French, but against each other as well. It is estimated that a fifth of the French army were fighting against the Hungarian army at the time.

Ducreux was known to have fought on both sides during the Hundred Years War, the English and the French and although he was a member of the French army, he was not involved in any battles, he was not really part of the battle itself, instead acting as a negotiator between the two sides and helping the king to sort out the problems that arose during the time period of the war. After the war ended, he established a large estate in France, which he named Jourdain and it is here that he built a castle.

Joseph ducreux's life was incredibly interesting, but it ended in tragedy when the wife of the first King of France died in childbirth, and she was the mother of the future King Louis IV of France. This tragedy was to be the first of the deaths of any of the ducregts of France, and many believed that the Ducreux's family had some sort of a curse placed upon them.
